TÜV SÜD RECERTIFIES DEUTSCHE HOSPITALITY WEBSITES
For the third year in a row, the German Technical Inspection Agency South (TÜV SÜD) has confirmed that booking hotel stays on the Deutsche Hospitality websites offers a particularly secure shopping experience. This means that the homepages of Steigenberger Hotels and Resorts (www.steigenberger.com) and IntercityHotel (www.intercityhotel.com) are officially deemed to be highly trustworthy and user friendly. The reservations site of the Jaz in the City brand (www.jaz-hotel.com) has now also been certified for the first time. In 2016, Deutsche Hospitality became the first hotel company to receive a TÜV SÜD certificate for its websites and indeed remains the only representative within the sector to have been awarded this mark of quality.

TÜV SÜD subjected Deutsche Hospitality’s servers and websites to thorough scrutiny. It also looked closely at internal processes for the processing of online bookings in respect of data protection and user friendliness. Certification further included the service and payment options provided by the call centre.

“The websites operated by Steigenberger Hotels AG fulfil the high quality standards required for the award of TÜV SÜD s@fer-shopping certification”, said Marc Seeliger from TÜV SÜD. “This year, we have once again awarded this operator our s@fer-shopping seal of quality on the basis of the investigation we carried out. This involved a detailed consideration of the aspects of security, data protection, user friendliness and processes and also included an audit at the company itself.” The bookings site of Jaz in the City also successfully underwent its initial check and subsequently obtained certification. “Deutsche Hospitality’s three reservation websites show their users that the company sets great store by quality and security,” Mr. Seeliger went on.

Certification is based on an extensive catalogue containing more than 100 individual criteria. “TÜV SÜD, an independent external institution, has confirmed that our steigenberger.com, intercityhotel.com and jaz-hotel.com websites fulfil high security and quality standards and thus offer a strong foundation for transparent and user-friendly booking processes”, commented Ralf Denke, Vice President of E-Business at Deutsche Hospitality.

Deutsche Hospitality is working on the further development of its digital provision on an ongoing basis. Bookings on the mobile websites of Steigenberger Hotels and Resorts can now also be completed via a chat function. This feature will be rolled out to the other brands in the Deutsche Hospitality portfolio following a successful trial phase.  Those wishing to avoid possible waiting times at reception have the option of using the IntercityHotel and Jaz apps. Guests are able to check in beforehand, use their smart phone to open the door to their room and settle their hotel bill via the app.
